And so it begins….
There is still plenty of work to do on the site, and yes, I am aware that the buttons are wonky when viewed in Safari or Firefox on a Mac, but everything will work out eventually. Plus, we could all undoubtedly use a little more wonkiness in our lives. I’m hoping to get on the classic Monday-Wednesday-Friday update schedule, at least until I get a job, but there is a slight possibility that I will bump it up to four a week. We’ll see won’t we.
Maybe five minutes away from finishing and saving Nemean page 5, Photoshop up and crashed on me. On my goddamn Mac too. I though this wasn’t supposed to happen. Also, I figured Photoshop would occasionally autosave something I’d been working on for hours like Microsoft Word, but….no luck. And so I just lost 2 and half hours of my life forever. gone. So, no page tonight, page tomorrow. Maybe two, but if not I’ll at least get another one up on Saturday. I’m really looking forward to finishing up chapters 2 and 3 over the next couple weeks, and finally moving on into the present or future or whatever.
I hope to be moving on into chapter 6, with a solid five chapters behind me, within a week and a half. That’s my goal anyway. It’ll be nice for my peace of mind to get into a linear progression.
Wow. I just posted 3 pages, marking the end of chapter 2, and, more impressively, the end of the all-nighter I just pulled coloring them. Incidentally, I have never EVER pulled an all-nighter before for ANY type of work, not in high school or college, and yet with a flimsy self-imposed deadline I managed to work for an ungodly long time on a cartoon that perhaps 10 people view regularly. I’m too tired to make a comment on that.
Two pages left until continuity is restored. I’m going to try to get them done by friday evening or saturday morning, but weekends have a way of….distracting…. me.

Expect fairly regular updates for the next month or so (Even with 100 percent of my brain I couldn’t possible fathom my schedule and work habits any amount of time beyond that). Also, in the next few days, I will be doing some minor renovations and improvements on the site. I think maybe 2 percent of first time viewers have intuited the acorn/leaves/baby-tree navigation buttons…I’m thinking about adding some words or some such. And the header: I like it a lot, but it’s pretty darn big. I either need to scrunch in something similar but not as tall, or incorporate some adspace into it to justify the size (money, that would be the justification. pennies and pennies of money). Keep reading and spreading the word! I’m still waiting for the first comment from someone who is not family or a friend. I haven’t figured out, yet, how to see the number of visitors I’ve gotten, but I’m pretty sure the data is somewhere.
I’ve got some coloring to do on the computron, but other than that I am set to post THREE PAGES TOMORROW! I went on a drawing spree today (sunday) both in terms of thumbnailing far, far into the future and drawing and inking 2 and 3/4 pages. Felt good, and I’m real pleased with where the story is headed. Sorry to all you 9 to 5′ers that there’s no fresh page to greet you Monday morning, but…..CHOWMNP!!
My computer is #$&*@#’ed. I’m getting it looked at today, but I just found out that my model and year of macbook is prone to this certain defect. Thus the #$@#$*ing.
I’ve got pages to color, but no coloring….(mac)book.
Welp, my flipping computer is fixed, much to the chagrin of my wallet. At least I’ve got a whole bunch of pages drawn, inked, and ready to color, so there will finally be some new stuff up soonish. I’m hoping to get one or two pages done over the next few days, but I will also be busy getting ready for and then traveling to THE NEW ENGLAND WEBCOMICS WEEKEND (www.webcomicsweekend.com), down in Easthampton, MA. This should be an extra good opportunity to promote myself and to meet a bunch of other people who either do what I do, or do what I do way better and actually make money or have readers.
